Racing As usual this Sunday 03/11 unless something drastic happens. See ya there!

The Homer Ice Racing Association members would like to express their thanks to Mike Devany and Steve Williams for the awesome job they have done maintaining the track so far this year. It takes a lot of time away from paying jobs they could be doing. We all should pitch in and give them a hand since they are only two of the racers who use the track. If anyone would like to volunteer to help in any way please e-mail Randy here and we'll get you hooked up with those who know whats needed. Also, we need volunteers to help with the Winter Carnival weekend for parking control and track protection.                                                                                                 Thanks a lot and keep in mind:                                                                                                                 It's all in fun!

On an unfortunately negative note; the association would like to express their extreme disappointment in the childish, and destructive behavior of the individuals who broke out the window and performed the other damage to our ice racing announcers shack seemingly without concern for the feelings of others or the costs such damage incurs. We are out there to have fun and everyone is invited to join in. It gives people something fun to do during a long cold winter and most of the racers are involved with other community activities which benefit the community as a whole. Who knows; maybe sometime down the road it could be your stuff treated in this manner. Somehow, this kind of thing always seems to come back to those responsible in one way or another. It could be that an ice racer can't help you sometime because he has to do emergency repairs from some vandalism incurred by some non caring persons. Thanks for taking the time to read this. I just had to get it off my chest. And if you know who did this, please ask them to grow up. No one respects this type of person; including themselves. Randy
